The high water ramps have been closed for a while now and the lake level stands at 594.2 which is .2 feet above normal pool. The Fish Habitate Improvement Day will be on March 13th, volunteers can meet at the Wolf Creek Boat Ramp and help with the placement of Christmas trees as habitat into Lake Shelbyville. Volunteers are encouraged to be at the ramp by 9 am. All volunteers will be given a map afterwards showing tree placement. After the work is done, a meal of chili and drinks will be provided. The Dam West and Opossum Creek High Water Ramps are closed until further notice due to slippery conditions. The high water ramps at Lone Point, Bo Woods, Wilborn Creek, Lithia Springs, and Eagle and Wolf Creek State Parks are open.

The Festival of Lights will run through January 3, 2010. They are open 5 pm - 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays and 5 pm - 9 pm Sundays-Thursdays. Come out and enjoy the many lights as well as the Historical Chautauqua that is turned into a carousel. Donations accepted at end of tour.

The Illini Backpacking Trail, Coon Creek Trail, and Okaw Bluff Trails are all closed due to the high water at Lake Shelbyville. Hikers can still use Camp Camfield and the General Dacey Trails.

The regular boat ramps on Lake Shelbyville are closed. The high water ramps are open. High Water ramps are available at Bo Woods, Dam West, Lithia Springs, Lone Point, Opossum Creek, Wilborn Creek, Eagle Creek State Park, and Wolf Creek State Park.
