To vote in the photo contest, there is a link on the home page.  You will then have to scroll through the pictures to see them.  On the right side of each one you will see in orange, the list of who to vote for.  It has come to our attention that there are more pictures than that you could vote for.  The only ones that you can vote for are the ones in the polls.  For some reason some of last year's entries are showing on the website even though they are not in our HTML.

We are sorry for the confusion.

Due to the Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) and the danger they pose to Ash trees, please don't bring firewood with you when you come to the area. (Illegal to transport Ash products)  Buy it when you get here.  This will help slow the EAB from coming into the Lake Shelbyville Area.  There are now 23 counties in the state with confirmed cases of EAB.  The Illinois Department of Agriculture has made it illegal to move specified materials out of these zones.  When you're in the area, you will notice purple things hanging in the trees.  These are sticky traps that attrack any EABs that might be in the area.  So far, there have been no confirmed cases in Shelby or Moultrie Counties which encompass the Lake Shelbyville Area.  Again, please buy your firewood once you get to the area.

The Illini Backpacking Trail, Coon Creek Trail, and Okaw Bluff Trails are all closed due to the high water at Lake Shelbyville.  Hikers can still use Camp Camfield and the General Dacey Trails.
